NATURAL HIGH SCHOOLS PROGRAMME
STANDARD SCHOOL GUIDELINES

BASIC GUIDELINES:

David Graham has presented the Natural High Programme in over 4000 schools nationwide. We appreciate that your school has hosted this session in the past but please find below basic guidelines to help make your schools event work to its full potential.

·         David will arrive approximately one hour before the presentation is due to start to set up, please can you be, or arrange for someone else to be available at that time to show him the closest place to unload to your venue, point out electric power socket, basic lighting for stage area & arrange for 2/3 average sized tables to be available at this point.

·         This is a presentation containing music and student interaction is encouraged, there will be some noise, but there are usually only 3-4 songs in the 75 minutes. Please could you advise any teachers, students or any body else who may be effected.

·         The acoustics are better in a school assembly hall or a drama theatre as the Newman Building has been booked out in your school diary for this session please can you ensure that all that are affected by this are aware. Large sports halls & gymnasiums are not suitable venues as the poor acoustic environment can distort the presentation and cause damage to David’s voice.

·         A stage area in your main assembly hall is required for the presentation, with 2/3 average sized tables for the sound equipment, a couple of chairs and a bottle of water if possible.

·         Please could you arrange for the seating to be “assembly style” with a gangway down the centre if possible.

·         Please arrange for the students to be accompanied into the hall with their teaching staff and issued in orderly. (There will be equipment around the stage area and information for them to use during the presentation on the seats.) Please ask the teachers to stay with their groups – we appreciate that there may be a lesson change over for some staff – (this point to ensure that the appropriate member of staff is with the group they would have been teaching) It is best if the students can take their seats as quickly as possibly in order for the presentation to start promptly. The presentation is 1 hour & 15 minutes long, please make sure that you allow extra time for the pupils to be seated and dismissed and 1 ¼ hours for the full programme.

·         Please can you arrange to be around for the presentation for evaluation purposes, or ask another member of staff if that is not possible, as we rely on evaluation to offer future funded sessions.

WE WOULD GRATEFULLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU COULD FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES, AS IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE COMPLY WITH HEALTH AND SAFETY REGULATIONS AND COMPLETE OUR ONGOING COMMITMENTS TO THE ALL OF THE SCHOOLS INVOLVED. FAILURE TO FOLLOW IMPORTANT POINTS MAY HAVE TO RESULT IN RESTRICTIONS OR AT WORST CANCELLATION OF A PRESENTATION. WE GRATEFULLY APPRECIATE & THANK YOU FOR YOUR CO-OPERATION.
